Closed windows without glass, smeared and obliquely built. There seems to be no constructional order or standard. Every form follows its own rule. The omnipresent sense of "beautiful" symmetries one searches in vain. Mostly it looks at first glance, neglected and shabby. But this is really ugly? Or just a living difference from convention?
These Windows so typical of northern Colombia, have their own special charm. Vivid colors applied to rough building structure tell on the one hand from the many difficulties of the people in this country and on the other hand from the simple solutions of life there. These windows show a kind of easy going lightness and a carefree dealing with life in a very beautiful way.
